About

About Temperic

Temperic is an alpha system for making software and AI capabilities easier to understand, inspect and improve.

It is being built around a model of Clarity, Confidence and Visibility: what a capability promises, what supports those claims, what remains unknown, and what is happening around it when it operates.

What we believe

A capability should be able to account for itself

01

Claims should be explicit

A capability that cannot state what it promises cannot be depended on with any precision. The promise should be written for the person deciding whether to rely on it.

02

Evidence is not uniform

Proven, tested without refutation, observed and assumed are different positions. Compressing them into a single measure of confidence loses the information that matters most.

03

Unknowns are information

A gap that is recorded is more useful than an inference that quietly fills it. Knowing where the evidence stops is part of knowing what can be concluded from it.

04

Understanding is contextual

A capability is only understandable alongside what depends on it, what it depends on, and what it is doing in operation.

05

Observable is not the same as understandable

A log can say what happened. It cannot say, by itself, whether what happened was what should have happened.

Why we are building it

Software is increasingly assembled rather than written

Systems are now built out of automations, AI agents, tools and reusable components that can act with less direct human involvement. The behaviour is spread across prompts, code, workflow definitions, tests, documentation, logs, permissions and monitoring systems, and the meaning that ties them together usually lives with whoever built them.

That cost is paid later, when somebody has to decide whether a change is safe, why an agent reached a conclusion, or what depends on a component nobody owns any more. Temperic is an attempt to make more of that meaning explicit while the system is being built rather than reconstructing it afterwards.

Status

Alpha

Temperic is developed by StableOps. The product is currently in alpha, and the material on this site describes the direction of development rather than a claim that every part is implemented.

StableOps

Temperic is developed by StableOps, a software company working on automation, integrations, AI-agent systems and the infrastructure needed to make them more understandable and dependable.

StableOps also undertakes selected implementation work for businesses and delivery partners.
